The Monarch Awards Foundation continues to render "Service
to All Mankind" by sucessfully implementing both our signature community initiatives, as well as program initiatives established by the current Alpha Kappa Alpha international administration.
"Global Leadership through Timeless Service" is the 2011-14 International Program theme and includes the following activities:
I. Emerging Young Leaders (EYL)
II. Health: Asthma Prevention and Management; Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability
III. Global Poverty
IV. Economic Security
Emerging Young Leaders Academy (EYL)
This signature program will impact the lives of 10,000 girls in grades six through eight by providing leadership development, civic engagement, enhanced academic preparation and character building. The increasing demands of the twenty-first century mandate our youth to be better leaders at a younger age making smart choices with positive consequences.
The Teen Esteem Program (TE)
Established in 2001, The Teen Esteem Mentoring Program is designed to enrich the lives of young ladies, personally and socially, who are enrolled in Chicago area public and private high schools.
TE addresses the needs of its participants through leadership skills development, college preparedness activities, and participation in service projects that enhance self awareness and self esteem.

This year's venue, The Smart Museum of Art was transformed into a zen-inspired, cosmopolitan party that featured haute cuisine, the first ever "Divine 9" Martini Bar, and old-school/ new-school music that featured V103's DJ Maurice "Ice" Culpepper that went into the wee hours of the morning.
