2020 Monarch Awards Foundation Scholarships

We are pleased to offer several scholarships to 2020 graduating seniors currently attending a Chicago Metropolitan Area High School, a  Historically Black College or University and/or an Illinois College or University. Please review the requirements for each scholarship.

 

The application deadline has been extended to April 30, 2020.

Chicago Metropolitan High School Scholarship

  • Must be 2020 graduating senior attending a Chicago Metropolitan Area High School (Chicago Metropolitan Area is defined by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce as Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties)

  • Must be planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university in the summer or fall of 2020

  •  Must have a minimum unweighted, cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  •  Must show proof of acceptance to and enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university before the scholarship is awarded

 

 

Historically  Black College or University Scholarship (HBCU)

  • Must have obtained at least a Second Semester Freshman status at an accredited four-year HBCU and be working toward a first Bachelor’s degree

  • Must show proof of graduation from a Chicago Metropolitan Area high school (Chicago Metropolitan Area is defined by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce as Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties)

  •  Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  •  Must show proof of enrollment in an accredited HBCU before the scholarship is awarded

 

Harriet Byrd Scanlon Teen Esteem Scholarship

  • Must be a current participant in the Monarch Awards Foundation's Teen Esteem Program

  • Must be a 2020 graduating senior planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university in the summer or fall of 2020

  • Must have a minimum unweighted, cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Must show proof of acceptance to and enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university before the scholarship is awarded

Illinois College or University Scholarship

  • Must have obtained at least a Second Semester Freshman status at an accredited four-year college or university in Illinois and be working toward a first Bachelor's degree

  • Must show proof of graduation from a Chicago Metropolitan Area high school (Chicago Metropolitan Area is defined by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce as Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties)

  •  Must have a minimum unweighted, cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  •  Must show proof of acceptance to and enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university in Illinois before the scholarship is awarded
