Pastor Jamal Johnson is a dynamic ministry leader with a passion for transformation and a deep commitment to the revitalization of the Black Church. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate at Moody Bible Institute with a focus on Black Church Revitalization.
Serving as the Executive/Associate Pastor of the historic Progressive Baptist Church in Chicago’s Bronzeville community, Pastor Jamal is dedicated to advancing the spiritual and social impact of the Black Church on African American families. Through his outstanding service to the community, Jamal has done the following
preached and taught nationwide at conferences, revivals, and leadership gatherings,
equipped pastors and ministry leaders with biblically grounded and practical strategies for church growth.
Beyond his ministry work, Pastor Jamal is a devoted husband to his wife, Rheanna, and a proud father of four. Rooted in the prophetic preaching tradition of the Black Church, he is a leader uniquely prepared to serve in this critical moment.
