On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the Monarch Awards Foundation, Inc., in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Xi Nu Omega Chapter, hosted Senior’s Day 2025 – An Afternoon of Love & Appreciation for Our Forever Fabulous Seniors in the historic Chicago’s Grand Boulevard Neighborhood, Rosenwald Courts Apartments. This year marked our third year of celebrating with the seniors at this cherished residence.
The afternoon was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful fellowship as seniors from across the community gathered to celebrate life and friendship. Guests enjoyed fun games, such as Bingo (a highlight for many, accompanied by plenty of cheers and laughter), followed by a delicious lunch that warmed both stomachs and hearts.
In addition to the entertainment, the event also prioritized care and well-being. Each attendee received resourceful and practical items, including protective undergarments, compression socks, toiletries, and other essential care products. Thanks to our partnership with World Vision, these thoughtful gifts ensured that our seniors felt not only appreciated but also supported in their everyday needs. A special thank you to Rosenwald Courts Apartments and Ms. Lynette Rhymes for their valued partnership and generous support.
Senior’s Day was more than just an event—it was a reminder that our elders are valued, cherished, and worthy of celebration. Through music, games, food, and vital resources, the Monarch Awards Foundation and Xi Nu Omega Chapter reaffirm their commitment to uplifting and protecting the senior community.
