Monarch Awards Foundation, Inc., in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Xi Nu Omega Chapter, and Blue Door Neighborhood Center, hosted “A Serious Matter: Black Women’s Health Forum,” on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Door Neighborhood Center, 11840 S. Marshfield Ave., Chicago, IL 60643.
The forum addressed, informed, and empowered Black women and families through open conversations on health and wellness. Guests heard from expert speakers on women’s health, heart health, mental health, and family perspectives, including:
Tajuana Johnson, APRN, FNP – Nurse Practitioner, Moderator
Dr. Rockelle Rogers-Branhan – Cardiologist
Staci Brown Morales – Parent Advocate
Dr. Obari Cartman, PhD – Clinical Community Psychologist
In addition to these dynamic sessions, attendees enjoyed lunch and access to community health resources.
