YLI and TE Join the Collaborative Effort to Keep Sherman Park Clean

On April 18th, in efforts to promote environmental stewardship, we provided 50 trees to local residents. This initiative offers a meaningful opportunity to take part in creating positive change right at home. Monarch Awards Foundation members, Youth Leadership Institute and Teen Esteem Program participants participated in a collaborative community cleanup project with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®- Theta Omega Chapter, Xi Nu Omega Chapter, Phi Kappa Omega Chapter, and Chi Omega Omega Chapter, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and  Chicago Park District to enhance our environment and help beautify Sherman Park located in Chicago’s New City community.
