21st Annual Community Feeding Reaches Many in the Englewood Neighborhood

Dec 1, 2025

On Saturday, November 21st and 22nd, we packed and distributed 2,000 food bags (groceries with fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, and a turkey) and 1,500 cases of water. These items were distributed to 14 agencies (Chicago Public schools, churches and not-for-profit organizations) and to residents of Englewood and surrounding areas. The four CPS schools also received 20 coats, 48 hats, 60 pairs of gloves, 66 pairs of thermal socks, 60 children’s gloves, and 48 children’s hats each.

Englewood residents also received 416 pairs of socks, 10 sweaters, 45 pairs of gloves, 14 scarves, and 99 hats, 123 packs of assorted-sized diapers, 80 packs of diaper wipes, books, games, toys, cookware, etc.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a program that mails free books to children from birth until school age, enrolled numerous families during the 21st Annual Community Feeding.
