March is Women’s History Month—a time to reflect on the trailblazers who have shaped history, broken barriers, and paved the way for progress. As members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Monarch Awards Foundation, we take immense pride in the contributions of our members who have dedicated themselves to uplifting communities, advocating for gender equality, and ensuring that the voices of women—especially women of color—are heard and valued in American society.
Since 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha has been a force for change, standing at the forefront of social justice, education, and empowerment. From the fight for civil rights to increasing access to healthcare and economic opportunities, our members have continuously embodied strength, leadership, and resilience. Icons such as Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, Kamala Harris, and Coretta Scott King have exemplified the power of service and sisterhood in advancing equity and inclusion.
Our commitment extends beyond honoring history—we actively invest in the future. Supporting the education of young women and empowering the next generation of leaders has always been our mission. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we continue to uplift and recognize the phenomenal women of color who have shaped history while working toward a society where all women are valued, respected, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Together, we honor the past, embrace the present, and shape the future.
Sisterhood. Service. Impact.
